Last lap before finish line ?

 Indeed, PHP 8.2 RC6 had been released this week, luckily there should not be a 7th. Speaking of 7, here as usual the summary of PHP activity in term of RFC and commits ; to be noted the handy new json_validate which could replace any json_decode call if and only the goal was to check its proper form.

Apart of this Yamagi Quake2 is aiming for the next release, on my part for first time adding couple of new video menu entries. In a smaller scale, I continue to bring a bit of novelty in the openspades game as well. Beyond that, as mentioned in a previous post, rust is gaining more traction, it s even more motivating to go on with the libc crate among other things.

Video games weekend

This week end was cloudy, thus I spent a little time (again) on OpenSpades fixing few things and for a change on the open source version of Jedi Academy/Outcast engine to make it buildable under BSD (at least FreeBSD and OpenBSD for instance), although there is no official release for the latter, it might land into BSD ports trees at some point ...

And ... I now co-organize the only Dublin BSD Group with Anton Whalley, hopefully will meet some  good irish BSD fans ;-)

End of year ...

Not a lot of news for this end of year, I hope you all enjoy your moments ;-)

As, least, there is the promised release of OpenSpades (to remind, there was no release since 2014), the 0.1.0 version here which among all the numerous changes, contains the little work I had done to make it workable under OpenBSD. I may try to make a package, we will see ;-)

Also another small change I try to push for the game OpenRCT2, for making it compilable and workable under FreeBSD (unfortunately not possible to do the same for OpenBSD, for the moment).

That s pretty much all, Haproxy since the 1.7 had a "rough" start but things are getting better and probably will have a really good version for early 2017.

At last, there is possibly a little surprise from me for 2017 ;-) ... we ll see.
